The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), the Department of Labor, and the Department of Treasury require group health plans and health insurance issuers in the group and individual market to disclose on a public website pricing information regarding all applicable rates for in-network providers, billed charges and allowed amounts for covered items and services provided by out-of-network providers. These files with pricing information must be made available to the public, including stakeholders such as consumers, researchers, employers, and third-party developers.
This link leads to machine-readable files that are available in response to the federal Coverage Transparency Rule and includes negotiated service rates and amounts allowed out of network between health plans and health care providers. Machine-readable files are formatted to allow researchers, regulators, and application developers to access and analyze data more easily. The data contained in these files will be updated monthly.
